（中外新闻社 中外新闻网记者 孟庆玺）2023年11月30日下午，应塞浦路斯驻华大使玛莎•玛夫罗玛蒂（H.E.Ms.Martha Mavrommatis）邀请，中外新闻社韦燕总裁同多国大使在北京希尔顿酒店国际宴会厅出席塞浦路斯共和国63周年国庆招待会，中国外交部邓励副部长出席并与塞浦路斯驻华大使玛莎•玛夫罗玛蒂共切生日蛋糕，举杯庆贺。
On the afternoon of November 30, 2023, at the invitation of Ambassador of Cyprus to China H.E. Ms. Martha Mavrommatis, President of Home and Abroad News Press Mrs. Wei Yan together with many ambassadors attended the 63rd National Day Reception of the Republic of Cyprus in the Hilton Beijing. Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Mr. Deng Li cut the birthday cake with Ambassador Martha Mavrommatis. All guests raised glasses to celebrate this wonderful moment.

下午13:00，会场上奏响起了塞浦路斯共和国国歌、欧盟盟歌、中华人民共和国国歌，之后玛莎•玛夫罗玛蒂大使致辞。她说，今天是塞浦路斯共和国宣布独立和六十三周年纪念日，对于我们来说有着超越时代的意义。回顾过往，我们为塞浦路斯这个小岛国多年来不屈不挠的精神深感自豪，我们也为取得的成就和发展、民主的巨大的进步以及作为欧盟大家庭的一员深感荣耀。
At 13:00, the National Anthem of the Republic of Cyprus, the EU Union Anthem and the National Anthem of the People's Republic of China were played, followed by a speech by Ambassador Martha Mavrommatis. She said that today is the 63rd anniversary of the declaration of independence and of the Republic of Cyprus, which for us has a great significance. Looking back, we are proud of the indomitable spirit of the small island nation of Cyprus over the years, and we are deeply honored by the achievements and developments, the great strides made in democracy, and by being part of the European Union family.
玛莎大使说到，塞浦路斯共和国与中华人民共和国于1971年12月14日建交，尽管地理上相距遥远，但塞浦路斯和中国有着深厚的友谊，并已在多信任、尊重和理解的基础之上。在这一坚实基础上，近年来两国交往不断扩大。两国高层互访频繁，务实合作全面发展，经贸关系不断推进。在承认双边合作在政治、社会和经济领域取得积极进展的同时，我们还同意在多边主义和国际法基础上，共同致力于加强在联合国和其他国际组织中的合作。与此同时，塞浦路斯将继续支持“一个中国”原则。
Ambassador Martha mentioned that the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Cyprus and the People's Republic of China on December 14th, 1971. Despite the long geographical distance, Cyprus and China share a deep friendship based on much trust, respect and understanding. On this solid foundation, the two countries have been expanding their contacts in recent years. The two countries have exchanged frequent high-level visits, pragmatic cooperation is developing comprehensively, and economic and trade relations are advancing. While recognizing the positive developments in bilateral cooperation in the political, social and economic fields, we also agree to work together to strengthen cooperation in the United Nations and other international organizations on the basis of multilateralism and international law. At the same time, Cyprus will continue to support the "One-China" principle.
塞浦路斯和中国这两个同样拥有悠久历史和古老文明的国家，决心在教育、研究、创新、旅游、卫生、体育和青年等领域进一步加强务实的合作。
Both Cyprus and China have long history and ancient civilizations, and are determined to further strengthen practical cooperation in the fields of education, research, innovation, tourism, health, sports and youth exchanges.
2019年，塞浦路斯总统阿纳斯塔夏季斯访华期间，两国签署了《中华人民共和国政府与塞浦路斯共和国政府关于共同推进丝绸之路经济带和21世纪海上丝绸之路建设的谅解备忘录》，塞浦路斯加入“一带一路”倡议，期待与中国进一步加强在其他领域的双边合作，如旅游业、科研人员往来等。
During the state visit of Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades to China in 2019, the two countries signed the 《Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus on Jointly Promoting the Construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road》, in which Cyprus officially joins the Belt and Road Initiative and looks forward to further strengthening bilateral cooperation with China in many sectors, such as tourism and exchange of scientific researchers.
招待会上，韦燕总裁同各国大使分享塞浦路斯63年取得的经济发展成果和外交成就，同时，经过中外新闻社大使俱乐部主席团主席提议，现场聘请塞浦路斯驻华大使玛莎•玛夫罗玛蒂担任中外新闻社大使俱乐部荣誉主席，韦燕总裁在此次活动上亲自给玛莎大使颁发任职证书。玛莎大使表示，感谢中外新闻社大使俱乐部对她的信任，期待把跨越时空、超越国度、富有永恒魅力的中外文化跃动起来, 让世界文明交互联通, 呈现出更加丰富多彩、绰约多姿的永恒魅力, 彰显世界和平与团结的安全理念。
At the reception, President Wei Yan shared the joy of the economic development and diplomatic achievements of Cyprus in the past 63 years with the ambassadors and guests. At the same time, recommended by the members of Home and Abroad News Press Ambassadors Club, Ambassador of Cyprus to China H.E. Ms. Martha Mavrommatis was specially appointed as the Honorary President of the Ambassador Club. President Wei Yan personally presented the certificate to her. She expressed her gratitude for the trust placed on her by the Home and Abroad News Press Ambassadors Club and looked forward to further connect the world's civilizations interacting with each other for prosperity and diversity as well as to maintain security, peace and unity in the global community.
