4月17日,中外新闻社 “新型冠状病毒疫情防控—对话各国驻华大使” 栏目组应邀来到斯里兰卡驻华使馆，中外新闻社总编辑韦燕一行对话斯里兰卡驻华使馆临时大使尤格纳丹。他第一句话谈到：中国疫情发生后，斯里兰卡人民不管什么宗教信仰，都在向上天祈祷：为中国祈福！
April 17th, “Home and Abroad News Press “COVID-19 Prevention and Control: Dialogue with Foreign Ambassadors to China” program visited the Sri Lankan embassy in Beijing. Our team had an exclusive interview with the Sri Lankan Charge d' Affaires ad Interim in China, H.E. Mr. K. K. Yoganaadan. When he greeted to us, he said that “Sri Lankans conducted prayers for the speedy recovery of China from COVID19.”
就如何评价中斯当前的关系时，尤格纳丹先生说，这次中国在面对疫情所做的一切是世界上任何一个国家都没有能力做到的。斯里兰卡的总统, 总理和各部长也通过信函支援中国，表达了他们对中国疫情的关注，还给中国赠送了斯里兰卡红茶，因为红茶有一种咖啡碱，可以增加人体免疫力，降低病毒的传播。
When we asked about the current relationship between China and Sri Lanka, Mr. Yoganaadan said that this time how China dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic was very impressive and effective. The Sri Lankan President, Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs sent letters and messages to Chinese counterparts expressing their concerns and solidarity to China during the pandemic. They also sent the famous Sri Lankan Ceylon black tea to China because black tea has a special kind of caffeine that can enhance human immunity and fight the novel coronavirus.
尤格纳丹先生谈到，斯里兰卡和中国有着悠久的传统友谊，两国经贸合作从未中断过，我记得1952年，斯里兰卡和中国签署了著名的《米胶协定》，谱写了两国友好合作的历史篇章。如今，中国投资者在斯里兰卡进行最新项目是可伦坡港口城市项目，该项目在269公顷的海上填海土地上建造。港口城市科伦坡将成为南亚地区首屈一指的住宅，零售和商业目的地，为沿印度洋温暖水域提供无与伦比的规划城市生活。到2020年4月，该项目的第一阶段已完成了99％的进度。这就是两国人民之间真挚的友谊。
Mr. Yoganaadan said that Sri Lanka and China maintain a longstanding robust bilateral relationship. Our bilateral relations started long time ago during the maritime Silk Road period and both countries engaged in trade. In modern times, we remember the Rubber and Rice Pact that was signed in 1952 between the two countries. This is an example to show how both countries stood with each other during the time of difficulty. The most recent project undertaken by Chinese investors in Sri Lanka is the Port City Colombo project which is being constructed on 269 hectares of reclaimed land from Sea. The Port City Colombo will be South Asia’s premiere residential, retail and business destination, offering unmatched planned city living along the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Phase one of this project has recorded 99% of progress by April 2020. In this context, both countries have been maintaining cordial friendship at the highest level.
他谈到，疫情期间，我非常敬佩中国政府和中国共产党，以及中国人民解放军，他们很有魄力地封锁了一个千万级人口的城市，而且保证武汉和湖北人民的物资，包括饮用水、食物和医疗装备的供给。还有一个让我很感动的就是中国其他省份和城市的医生护士，他们都自愿地去支援了湖北和武汉，这些中国人发自内心的来帮助自己的国家，帮助人民度过难关。现在很多发达国家也面临了新冠病毒的挑战，但是他们在抗疫防疫方面确实不如中国做的好，才导致了现在疫情的国外的迅速蔓延。
He continued that I truly admired Chinese government, Chinese Communist Party and Chinese Liberation Army. The swift action taken to lockdown the Wuhan city with 11 million people and ensuring continues treatment, medical, food and other supplies without interruption is commendable. We also witnessed makeshift hospitals were built within days to treat infected patients and quarantine others. The medical staff and people of Hubei Province made immense scarifies in the fight against COVID19. We also saw medical staff from other provinces volunteering to serve in Wuhan. Those people are bravely helping their country from the bottom of their hearts to overcome this unexpected challenge of COVID19. Now, many countries are facing the same challenge of COVID19 and they are trying their best to control epidemic.
他还谈到，中国很多公司和个人也慷慨地给斯里兰卡捐赠医疗物资，包括口罩，防护服，测温枪等，我们也安排航空渠道把这些医疗物资送回斯里兰卡。我们由衷地感谢每一个捐助过我们的中国朋友，在使馆走廊里面有很斯里兰卡多哥伦布小学生的画作，他们用这样的方式表达对中国的感谢，也希望中国和斯里兰卡心连心、友谊地久天长。
He also mentioned many Chinese companies and individuals have generously donated medical supplies to Sri Lanka, including surgical masks, medical protective clothing, temperature measuring guns, etc. We have also arranged for air shipments to send these medical supplies to Sri Lanka. We sincerely thank all Chinese friends who have donated urgently needed medical supplies. There are many paintings which were painted by students of the Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo, displayed in the embassy corridors. They expressed their solidarity with China through their paintings, and they hope that the friendship of China and Sri Lanka will be further strengthened and consolidated.
他指出，疫情发生后，我相信国际社会看到了一个真实的中国：中国积极向疫情严重的国家捐赠防役物资，至今了解到中国已向塞尔维亚、阿尔及利亚、安哥拉、保加利亚、法国、德国、伊朗、伊拉克、意大利、日本、老挝、斯里兰卡、黎巴嫩、马来西亚、巴基斯坦、秘鲁、韩国、瑞士、突尼斯、土耳其、美国等20多个国家捐赠防役物资，同时中国也对国际社会保持了公开透明的疫情通报机制，和世卫组织以及很多国家分享了关于病毒的信息和防疫近况，中国还为世卫组织捐助了两千万美元。中方这么做，是对国际抗疫斗争的坚定支持，是对全球公共卫生安全的积极贡献，体现了负责任的大国担当，也践行了中方所倡导的构建人类命运共同体的理念。
He pointed out that after the COVID19 outbreak, with controlling the domestic situation, China is actively supporting and donating anti-virus supplies to Serbia, Algeria, Angola, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Laos, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Malaysia, Pakistan, Peru, South Korea, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, United States and more than 20 countries. At the same time, China is also collaborating with international organizations such as the World Health Organization by inviting their Director General and sharing open and transparent information about the virus. China has donated 20 million USD for the WHO to utilize in fighting the virus. By doing so, China is a firm supporter to fight against the COVID19 with other countries and making a positive contribution.
中外新闻社总编辑韦燕此次之行，带去了1000个医用口罩捐赠斯里兰卡。韦燕表示，中外新闻社的微薄之力希望在媒体做一个典范，号召有实力的中国媒体和企业关注斯里兰卡。无论国际风云如何变幻，相信中国将始终同斯里兰卡坚定站在一起，使中斯关系成为共建人类命运共同体的典范，更好造福两国人民。
