应习近平主席邀请，沙特国王萨勒曼•本•阿卜杜勒－阿齐兹•阿勒沙特于3月15日至18日对中国进行国事访问，国王和他的亲信们搭乘的是镀金波音747定制专机，代表团包括10名部长、800名代表和25位王子。访华第一天，沙特就与中国签了650亿美元的合作大单，此举成为国际关注的大新闻。
Invited by President Xi Jinping, Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud paid a state visit to China between March 15th and 18th. The King and his relatives were taking the Boeing 747 custom-made gold-plated plane to China with the delegation including 10 ministers, 800 representatives and 25 princes. On the first day of his visit to China, Saudi Arabia and China signed a series of cooperation agreements totaled over $65 billion USD, which quickly became a big news in the international community.
3月16日，习近平和萨勒曼在人民大会堂举行会谈，随后，两国元首共同见证了经贸、能源、产能、文化、教育、科技等领域14份双边合作文件的签署。这份协议包含35个项目的合作，价值650亿美元。
On March 16th, Xi Jinping and King Salman held talks in the Great Hall of the People. Subsequently, the two heads of state witnessed the signing of 14 bilateral cooperation documents in the fields of economy, trade, energy, production, culture, education and science and technology. Those agreements contain 35 projects and worth over $65 billion USD in value.
3天后的3月19日中外新闻社迎来创立16周年纪念，当日下午17.30分在北京国家会议中心举行庆典仪式，沙特驻华大使图尔基阁下应邀出席。图尔基大使上台致辞后特向中外新闻社赠送外交部国礼—镀金的沙特首都利雅得（Riyadh）大门造形。独特的城市和文化标志，以其时尚、简约的设计，成为象征性的建筑，同时展现了伊斯兰的科学和文化。正式赠送前，图尔基大使诠释了这个礼物的含义，利雅得（Riyadh），是西亚国家沙特阿拉伯的首都和第一大城市，利雅得在阿拉伯语为庭院之意，是一个典型的绿洲城市，国际大都市。
Three days later, Home and Abroad News Press hosted the 16th Anniversary Ceremony at the China National Convention Center in Beijing on March 19th, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to China, H.E. Mr. Turki M. A. Almadi was invited to attend. After Ambassador Turki's speech, he presented a national present of Saudi Arabia to Home and Abroad News Press, a gold-plated Riyadh door sculpture. This priceless gift represents unique urban and cultural landmark with its stylish and minimalist designs as a symbolic Islamic architecture. Before the official presentation, Ambassador Turki interpreted the meaning of this national present. Riyadh is the capital of Saudi Arabia and the largest city in the country. Riyadh means “garden” in the Arabic, and it is a typical oasis city and international metropolis.

Ambassador Turki said: “Saudi Arabia's King Salman’s visit to China proves that Saudi Arabia and China are closely connected and have a wide range of common interests, and the good relations between Saudi Arabia and China are vibrant and fruitful. The pragmatic relations between the two countries are still on the rise…... I believe that this historical state visit to china will further consolidate the results achieved by both sides.”
中外新闻社总裁韦燕郑重接过沙特驻华大使图尔基阁下赠送的这个特别礼物，这是促进世界上两个古老文明--阿拉伯文明和中华文明的交流互鉴。韦燕表示：要继续致力于推动中沙人文交流，为两国友好合作与发展作出更大贡献。
The President of Home and Abroad News Press Mrs. Wei Yan received the national present from Ambassador Turki. 当晚，出席中外新闻社16周年庆典的22国使节和来自政府、宣传部门、企业、媒体等社会各界嘉宾超过200人在国家会议中心见证了这难忘的一刻。
