8月28日下午，国际奥委会举办新闻发布会。国际奥委会主席托马斯•巴赫说，南京青奥会有很多方面值得总结。青奥会特别成功、特别精彩。
August 28th afternoon, the International Olympic Committee held a press conference. The Presidentof the International Olympic Committee Mr. Thomas Bach said that the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games had many great experience, and it was a successful and exceptional event!

巴赫从4个方面进行肯定。首先，南京青奥组委会的组织工作很出色，交通、场馆等方面运行顺利。其次，志愿者团队友好，工作高效，他们的微笑给人留下深刻的印象。第三，体现了高度可持续性的特点。第四，创新。大项小项组织混合团体赛，不同国籍不同性别的人能组织到一起。
Mr. Bach concluded the event from four aspects. Firstly, the organization of the Nanjing Youth Olympic Organizing Committee was very thorough. Transportation, venues and related services were running smoothly during the entire period. Secondly, the volunteerswere professional, friendly and efficient.Their smiles left great impressions to all visitors. Thirdly, the Games set a high bar for sustainability features. Fourthly, it was all about innovation. Although the athlete and visitor groups were extremely diverse and mixed, the committee was able to provide essential services to all participants from different countries, cultures andbackgrounds.

在记者提问环节，当问到在所有场馆中印象最深刻的是哪个时，巴赫表示对青奥村印象最为深刻，他说：“青奥村是任何一届青奥会的心脏所在，我喜欢看到运动员们在青奥村进行互动，有60万多人用社交媒体平台进行互动，还能有余暇进行自拍。”
In the journalist question session, he was asked about his favorite venues, he said that he was very impressed by the Youth Olympic Village. “The Youth Olympic Village is the core component of any Youth Olympic Games, I like to see athletes around the world interact in the Youth Olympic Village, there were more than 600,000 people interacted on the social media platforms. 对于开幕式上巴赫自拍在年轻人中流行，巴赫称：“我没想到我们在开幕式上自拍行为引起中国4.5亿人的关注与共鸣，这超出了我们的想象，在青奥村和场馆经常会有运动员邀请我自拍，再把我们自拍的照片传递到世界各地，这是非常愉快的经历。”
At the opening ceremony, many young people learnt the self-photographing from Mr. Bach. He said: “I did not think my own behavior at the opening ceremony could make such big impact on China’s 450 million young people. I took pictures for myself, and many athletes also took pictures with me in the Youth Olympic Village, and then they sent the pictures around the world. Sharing the self-photographing pictures is such pleasant experience for me.”

当问到南京青奥会能给南京带来什么？巴赫说：“南京青奥会将留下非常伟大的遗产给南京市民，首先，场馆和青奥会将能供未来几代人使用，惠及南京市，甚至江苏省人民，其次，通过青奥会，运动员和南京的志愿者们能接触到世界各地的人，帮助这些年轻人更多地了解世界，也让世界更加深刻地了解南京，了解中国。
“What will the Youth Olympic Games bring to Nanjing?” Mr. Bach answered: “Nanjing Youth Olympic Games will leave great legacy to the citizens of Nanjing. First of all, the Youth Olympic venues can be used for future generations, not only create invaluable benefits to Nanjing city, but also to the whole Jiangsu Province. Secondly, through this event, athletes and volunteers around the world made friendly connections with each other, more young people learn about Nanjing, about China; at the same time, more Chinese people understood and interacted with the world.
