During Uruguay's Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining Omar Paganini’s visit to China, the Embassy of Uruguay in China held a press conference on September 7th, 2023 in Beijing. President of Home and Abroad News Press Mrs. Wei Yan and Executive Director Mr. Liu Dengchen attended the event. Mr. Omar Paganini said to the reporters that the Uruguay is willing to cooperate with China in investment, science and technology and trade in the field of renewable energy, and jointly promote the global decarbonization process.
乌拉圭驻华大使馆公使衔参赞马丁•奥兰多介绍，今年是乌中建交35周年，帕加尼尼部长应2023年中国国际服务贸易交易会主办方、2023中国国际智能产业博览会主办方、以及北京、重庆两地政府邀请来华访问。在此期间，帕加尼尼部长出席了服贸会以及智博会的开幕式，并与中方官员就两国的合作交流展开积极对话。
Mr. Martin Orlando, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of Uruguay in China, introduced that this year is the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uruguay and China, and Minister Omar Paganini was invited by the organizers of the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) 2023, the organizers of the China International Intelligent Industry Expo (CIIIE) 2023, as well as the municipal governments of Beijing and Chongqing to visit China. During his visit, Minister Omar Paganini attended the opening ceremonies of CITES and CIIE, and engaged in active dialogs with Chinese officials on cooperation and exchange between the two countries.
帕加尼尼部长在讲话中表示，此次访华成果丰硕，服贸会是在全世界范围内都具有重要意义的活动，它对于各国，特别是对于乌拉圭来说具有非常重要的意义；在智博会上，乌方得以近距离观察中国科技近年来的发展状况，并在2023中国-拉美和加勒比国家数字技术合作论坛上介绍乌拉圭的科技发展战略。
In his speech, Minister Paganini said that the visit to China was fruitful, and that the CIFTIS is an event of great significance all over the world, which is of great importance to all countries, especially to Uruguay; at the CIIIE, the Uruguayan participants were able to take a close look at the development of Chinese science and technology in recent years, and introduce Uruguay's science and technology development strategy at the China-Latin America and Caribbean Countries Digital Technology Cooperation Forum 2023.
谈及中乌两国在可再生能源领域的合作，帕加尼尼部长在回答记者提问时表示，乌拉圭愿与中国在该领域的投资、科技与贸易方面进行合作，共同推进全球脱碳进程。
Talking about the cooperation between China and Uruguay in the field of renewable energy, Minister Paganini said that Uruguay is willing to cooperate with China in investment, science and technology and trade in this field, and jointly promote the global decarbonization process.
帕加尼尼部长介绍，目前乌拉圭已完成能源转型的第一部分，其国内生产的电力有97%来自可再生能源。
He also explained that Uruguay has now completed the first part of its energy transition, with 97% of its domestically produced electricity coming from renewable sources.
帕加尼尼部长强调，乌中在可持续发展方面有共同愿景，能够在多方面开展合作。他表示，以绿氢为例，乌中两国可在氢气、氢衍生物及氢能设施建设上开展多种合作。
He emphasized that Uruguay and China share a common vision of sustainable development and can cooperate in many ways. He said that green hydrogen is an example of the many ways in which Uruguay and China can cooperate on hydrogen, hydrogen derivatives and the construction of hydrogen energy facilities.
会见结束，中外新闻社总裁韦燕、中外新闻社执行社长刘登臣等同乌拉圭工业能源矿业部部长奥马尔•帕加尼尼阁下及乌拉圭驻华大使费尔南多•卢格里斯阁下等共进午餐。
After the press conference, President of Home and Abroad News Press Mrs. Wei Yan and Executive Director Mr. Liu Dengchen had lunch with Minister Omar Paganini, and the Ambassador of Uruguay to China H.E. Mr. Fernando Lugris and other officials.
