At 1pm on August 20th, Home and Abroad News Press Journalist Delegation visited the Malaysian Pavilion in the Expo Park with the officers from the Expo Media Centre. When entering the pavilion with Chinese and Malaysian flags, we strongly felt that “Four Seeds” --- Malaysian Pavilion makes a pleasant journey for everyone.
The Expo Media Centre representative of Asian countries’ pavilions, the Pavilion Director of Malaysian Pavilion Mrs. Raslan Dahlan warmly welcomed the delegation at the main gate. She firstly introduced “the first seed” to us.
After the journalists entered “the first seed”, they sit on the two rows in a studio. On a giant screen from the ground to the top ceiling, a promotion video “the present and the future” was played with special visual and sound effects. The entire movie was breathtaking and made all visitors like being in Malaysia for real personal experience.
When we entered the second section of the pavilion, we felt the fresh breeze blowing to us. It is like a tropical forest. Here, the visitors could see and experience the unique Malaysian “natural landscapes”. Through the giant screens and 3D animal interaction programs, the visitors could find interesting and different experience. Furthermore, there are a few big and tall trees at the end of the pavilion, those trees got many holes on their branches. When we looked closely, we found many Malaysian plant and animal displays in those “tree holes”. What an interesting design!
We learnt from the introduction: the pavilion spreads over 2,047 square metres, takes the shape of four seeds. The curves of the design and the weaving patterns on the structure reflect the versatility and dynamism of the nation. The Malaysia Pavilion design drew inspiration from the humble rainforest seed. The seed, a symbol of growth, signifies a beginning of a journey, and the potential within.
The Malaysian Pavilion showcased many products and goods. There are a restaurant, a café and an outdoor activity zone in the pavilion for the visitors to enjoy pleasant moments there. The junior journalists really like the design of the Malaysian Pavilion. After the interview with Mrs. Raslan Dahlan, they took a group photo together as the souvenirs from the Malaysian Pavilion.
