A very good evening.It is with profound gratitude and honor that I stand in front of this esteemed audience at such an auspicious event to celebrate the epitome of harmonious cross-cultural co-existence through building bridges of people-to-people connectivity and interaction, shared life experiences and the promotion of peace and tolerance espoused in the visionary Global Civilization Initiative being advanced by President Xi Jinping.

尊敬的新闻界朋友们，女士们，先生们。
大家晚上好。我怀着深深的感激和荣幸之情，在这样一个吉祥的时刻，站在尊敬的观众面前，庆祝习近平主席提出的富有远见的 "全球文明倡议 "所倡导的通过搭建人与人之间联系和互动的桥梁、分享生活经验以及促进和平与宽容来实现跨文化和谐共处的缩影。
Whilst the universal dream of all citizens of the world is progressive development for prosperity in an environment of peace it is pertinent to realize that because of the natural diversity in culture and endowments it becomes paramount to realize that without an appreciation and acknowledgement to turn our differences into elements of interdependence, there can be no room for a shared future of win-win outcomes hence the need for the creation of bridges to facilitate collaboration.
世界公民的共同梦想是在和平的环境中逐步实现发展与繁荣，但同时我们也必须认识到，由于文化和禀赋的天然多样性，如果不重视和承认将我们的差异转化为相互依存的要素，就不可能有实现双赢的共同未来，因此有必要建立促进合作的桥梁。
The Home and Abroad News Press continues to play a pivotal role as a vehicle, a bridge and a window for bringing China to the world and the world to China. It has also played a key role as a mirror through which we as the diplomatic community have and continue to introspect on how our relations with China and the rest of the world can be shaped for the further strengthening of those elements of international relations which bring us together.
中外新闻社作为一种载体、桥梁和窗口，将中国带向世界，将世界带向中国，继续发挥着举足轻重的角色。它还发挥了一面镜子的关键作用，通过这面镜子，我们外交界已经并将继续反思如何塑造我们与中国和世界其他国家的关系，以进一步加强将我们联系在一起的那些国际关系要素。
Through the activities and programs of Home and Abroad News Press we have come to appreciate the essence of China through conversation and lived experience. We have managed to navigate the journey of China from the old to the new China. We have come to appreciate the role of the Communist Party of China in shaping the rejuvenation and transformation of this country into a modern, strong and beautiful socialist state and we have witnessed conversations across all generations of Chinese netizens around the "Chinese Dream" of independent and autonomous development and never to be humiliated again.
通过中外新闻社的活动和项目，我们在对话和生活体验中领略了中国的精髓。我们成功地走过了中国从旧中国到新中国的历程。我们体会到了中国共产党在实现国家复兴、建设富强美丽的社会主义现代化国家过程中所发挥的作用，也见证了一代代中国网民围绕独立自主、永不屈辱的 "中国梦 "所展开的对话。
Through the medium of Home and Abroad News we have managed to tell our own country stories, project our image to the world and share our own dreams of a future of prosperity through collaborative development. We continue to propagate good will messages for harmonious co-existence and shun hegemony and bullying of other nations basing on size, level of development and choice of development path.
通过《中外新闻》这一杂志媒介，我们成功地讲述了自己国家的故事，向世界展示了我们的形象，并分享了我们通过协同发展实现繁荣未来的梦想。我们将继续传播和谐共处的善意信息，避免因国家大小、发展水平和发展道路选择而对其他国家实施霸权和欺凌。
Through this medium I once again take this opportunity to restate that Zimbabwe remains a strong pillar of support for China's core interests to include the One China Policy. Zimbabwe is a partner in all initiatives to promote universal Good Governance and Development to include the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Global Development Initiative (GDI) Global Civilization Initiative (GCI) and the Forum for China Africa Co-operation (FOCAC).
我借此机会再次重申，津巴布韦仍然是支持中国核心利益，包括一个中国政策的坚强支柱。津巴布韦是 "一带一路 "倡议（BRI）、"全球发展倡议"（GDI）、"全球文明倡议"（GCI）和中非合作论坛（FOCAC）等所有促进普遍善治和发展倡议的合作伙伴。
On its part Zimbabwe, in the 2nd Republic under the able leadership of His Excellency Comrade E.D. Mnangagwa is a Friend to All and Enemy to None. We value our friendship with China which is sealed in the blood and sweat of the armed struggle. We are open for business and welcome our Chinese friends to come and work with us for win-win outcomes in all sectors of our economy. We acknowledge the principled support of China for the unconditional removal of the over 20 years of heinous illegal sanctions from some Western countries. Through the principled solidarity and unconditional support of China, we remain standing and strong and we don't take this sacrifice for granted.
就津巴布韦而言，在 E.D. 姆南加古瓦阁下的英明领导下，第 2 个共和国与所有国家为友，从未树敌。我们珍视与中国的友谊，这种友谊是在艰苦卓绝的斗争中用鲜血和汗水凝结而成的。我们对商业持开放态度，欢迎我们的中国朋友前来与我们合作，在我国经济的各个领域实现双赢。我们承认中国原则上支持无条件取消一些西方国家 20 多年来令人发指的非法制裁。通过中国有原则的声援和无条件的支持，我们依然屹立和强大，我们不会认为这种牺牲是理所当然的。
Esteemed delegates, ladies and gentlemen, as I humbly accept the Award of Home and Abroad News Person of the Year, let me pay special tribute to the Chinese mainstream Media and the Home and Abroad News Press for nominating me for this very Prestigious Award. It certainly will motivate me and my colleagues to do more for the common good of promoting excellent harmonious and purposive relations between the People's Republic of China, the world at large and Zimbabwe as a country. To me this award is not an individual achievement but a recognition of the collective efforts of my embassy in consolidating both bilateral and multilateral relations as a cherished ideal of our people.
尊敬的各位代表、女士们、先生们，在我谦恭地接受 "中外新闻年度人物 "奖之际，请允许我特别感谢中国主流媒体和海内外新闻界对我的提名。这必将激励我和我的同事们为促进中华人民共和国与整个世界以及津巴布韦作为一个国家之间和谐而有目的的良好关系这一共同利益做更多的工作。对我来说，这个奖项不是个人的成就，而是对我使馆为巩固双边和多边关系所做的集体努力的认可，这也是我们人民所珍视的理想。
To Mrs. Wei Yan, as you celebrate the 22nd Anniversary of your organization I give special recognition and tribute to you for your tireless commitment in organizing the events of Ambassadors and Diplomats in conjunction with Friendship Associations which promote relations with our countries. We cherish and recognize your hard work and wish you the best in the coming Chinese New Year. We wish you good health and renewed so that you go the extra mile of excellence in pursuit of China's national objectives.
