As a window for the world to observe and understand China, the Two Sessions have attracted close attention from foreign diplomats in China. With the launch of the 15th Five-Year Plan, ambassadors are using the Two Sessions to decipher the secrets of “China’s Governance” and identify new trends in future development. In exclusive interviews with Home and Abroad News Press, ambassadors from multiple countries stated that China’s stability and development represent a significant contribution to the world. The Fourth Session of the 14th National People’s Congress was concluded on March 12, 2026. Next day, President Wei Yan of Home and Abroad News Press led a delegation to the Iranian Embassy in China to interview Ambassador Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli. Wei Yan presented Ambassador Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli with a “commemorative envelope” from the opening session of the Fourth Session of the 14th National People’s Congress. She also invited Ambassador Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli to be the Honorary President Home and Abroad News Press Ambassadors Club.

“Hello, dear Ambassador. China’s Two Sessions just successfully concluded yesterday. In your view, how will the Chinese government’s target of 4.5–5% economic growth contribute to global economic growth? What is your assessment of the current positive momentum in China’s economy?” we asked.
大使首先祝贺中国“两会”召开。法兹里（Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli）大使谈到：对于大使而言，中国两会是一个重大时刻，我非常乐于见证中国如何规划未来，今年中国两会在稳增长、深化改革、实施创新驱动发展战略、扩大高水平开放、继续做好常态化疫情防控等方面做出了一系列决策部署。中国以人民为中心的发展理念令人钦佩。中国4.5-5%的经济增长目标反映了中国对保持可持续增长的信心，更重要的是，中国对“全球共同发展和繁荣”的坚定和积极承诺。“两会”宣布的政策和计划表明，中国按照习近平先生提出的“新发展理念”，将“高质量发展”和“可持续安全”重点列入议程，为人民大福祉而努力。
The ambassador began by congratulating China on the convening of the “Two Sessions.” Ambassador Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli remarked: “For me, the Two Sessions mark a significant moment. I am delighted to witness how China is charting its future. This year, the Two Sessions have made a series of decisions and arrangements regarding stabilizing economic growth, deepening reforms, implementing an innovation-driven development strategy, expanding high-level opening-up, and continuing to maintain routine epidemic prevention and control measures. China’s people-centered development philosophy is truly admirable.” China’s economic growth target of 4.5–5% reflects the country’s confidence in maintaining sustainable growth; more importantly, it demonstrates China’s firm and proactive commitment to “global shared development and prosperity.” The policies and plans announced at the “Two Sessions” indicate that, in accordance with the “New Development Philosophy” proposed by Mr. Xi Jinping, China has placed “high-quality development” and “sustainable security” at the forefront of its agenda, striving for the well-being of the people.

Ambassador Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli noted that through China’s Two Sessions, the world is observing new trends in China’s future development and looks forward to a developing China providing stability and direction to a turbulent world. We can clearly sense China’s developmental transition from a phase of rapid growth to a phase of high-quality development, with a focus on industrial development and technological innovation, among other areas.

Ambassador Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said that there is no doubt that Iran-China relations are rooted in the millennia-old history and civilizations of both nations; only by fully appreciating the historical context of these relations can one gain a profound and authentic understanding of bilateral ties. Iran and China are two ancient civilizations of Asia. Over the course of thousands of years, they have maintained close ties not only in the cultural and economic spheres, but the Silk Road has also served as a bridge connecting the two nations in terms of ideas, art, science, and trade. Iran is a country with significant regional and international influence, and it is also a good friend and partner of China. Against the backdrop of accelerating changes in the global landscape over the past century, the strategic significance of China-Iran relations has become even more prominent.

Iran and China have consistently and firmly supported each other’s core interests, including national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national dignity. The Islamic Republic of Iran respects the One-China policy, while the People’s Republic of China opposes foreign interference in internal affairs and actions that undermine Iran’s stability and security.
