On April 29, 2026, at the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Arlindo Do Rosario, Ambassador of the Republic of Cape Verde to China, President Wei Yan of Home and Abroad News Press attended the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Cape Verde in Beijing. During the event, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu had an exchange with Ms. Wei Yan, once again bearing witness to the commitment to promoting sustainable and shared development and upholding international fairness and justice.
当晚的会场, 苗得雨副部长分别同出席中国与佛得角建交50周年招待会的各国驻华大使见面, 大多都是苗得雨的老朋友, 他们一一交流, 互相问候。他们是: 非洲驻华外交使团团长、喀麦隆大使马丁·姆巴纳阁下、佛得角驻华大使阿林多·多罗萨里奥阁下、古巴驻华大使白诗德阁下、加纳驻华大使科乔·邦苏阁下、克罗地亚驻华大使达里欧·米海林阁下及联合国驻华官员等国际组织负责人。记者看到, 每一位驻华大使看到苗得雨特别亲切, 大家有说有笑, 回忆曾经时刻, 展望美好未来。
At the reception that evening, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu met with ambassadors from various countries attending the reception. Most of them were old friends of Miao Deyu, and they exchanged greetings and engaged in conversation one by one, including Ambassador of Cameroon and Head of the African Diplomatic Corps in China H.E. Mr. Martin Mpana, Ambassador of Cape Verde to China H.E. Mr. Arlindo Do Rosario, Ambassador of Cuba to China H.E. Mr. Alberto Blanco Silva, Ambassador of Ghana to China H.E. Mr. Kojo Bonsu, Ambassador of Croatia to China H.E. Mr. Dario Mihelin, and heads of international organizations such as UN officials in China. We saw that every ambassador greeted Miao Deyu with particular warmth; everyone chatted and laughed, and looking forward to a bright future.

President Wei Yan introduced Home and Abroad News Press to Vice Minister Miao Deyu. During the discussion, President Wei Yan outlined the Ambassadors Club and its mission and responsibilities on the international stage, emphasizing that the agency’s functional positioning would align with the tone of Vice Minister Miao Deyu’s remarks on various occasions. The event was hosted by African nations, what left the deepest impression on Wei Yan was Miao Deyu’s remark that the peoples of China and Africa are growing ever closer, their cooperation is expanding, and their friendship is deepening. 苗得雨毕业于89级山东大学外国语学院英语专业, 并在93级语言学方向获得硕士学位。历任中华人民共和国驻以色列国大使馆参赞 , 驻大不列颠及北爱尔兰联合王国大使馆参赞、发言人 , 外交部政策规划司参赞、副司长、司长等职。2023年11月, 任外交部党委委员、部长助理, 政策规划司司长。2025年6月, 任外交部副部长。
Miao Deyu graduated from the School of Foreign Languages at Shandong University in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in English, and earned a master’s degree in Linguistics in 1993. He has served as Counselor at the Embassy of China in Israel, Counselor and Spokesperson at the Embassy of China in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and Director-General of the Department of Policy and Planning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In November 2023, he was appointed as a member of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Assistant Minister, and Director-General of the Department of Policy and Planning. In June 2025, he was appointed to be the Vice Foreign Minister.
