2023年8月7日，中外新闻社在北京二十一世纪饭店一楼宴会厅举行“见证友谊--中外新闻社2023暑期访问外国驻华使馆小记者团”开团仪式。外交部原副部长助理马德强先生，联合国国际合作协调局副局长兼新闻部部长、中外新闻社总裁韦燕，中外新闻社执行社长刘登臣，中外新闻社副总裁张珈闻，中外新闻社副社长齐欢等领导出席。来自香港、深圳、北京、东莞、惠州、青岛、烟台、潍坊、哈尔滨、广州、汕头、承德等20多名小记者经过“海选”参加中外新闻社小记者团。
