Sri Lanka is located in the Indian Ocean, and it was one of the member states of the British Commonwealth. It is also known as the "Kingdom of Gems" and "Pearl of the Indian Ocean", Marco Polo called it the most beautiful island on earth.
8月8日下午3点, “见证友谊”--中外新闻社小记者2023暑期访问斯里兰卡驻华大使馆, 斯里兰卡驻华大使帕利塔•科霍纳博士热情接待我们, 并回答小记者们的提问。
At 3:00pm on August 8th, “Witness Friendship” 2023 Summer Home and Abroad News Press Junior Journalist Delegation visited the Sri Lankan Embassy in Beijing, we were warmly received by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka, Dr. H.E. Palitha Kohona, who also answered the questions of the junior journalists.
“尊敬的帕利塔•科霍纳博您好！我们小记者能采访您感到非常高兴。您是一位资深的外交官, 您曾担任联合国法律事务办公室的负责人, 及联合国国家管辖范围以外的生物多样性工作组联合主席。作为为斯里兰卡驻华大使, 你认为：两国青少年, 将如何接过‘接力棒’、传承中斯宝贵的友谊？小记者向大使提问。
“Hello Dear Ambassador Palitha Kohona! It is a great pleasure for us to have this interview with you today. You are such a senior diplomat who has served many important positions in the United Nations. As the Ambassador, in your opinions: how will the youth of the two countries continue this precious friendship between China and Sri Lanka? Thank you!” asked by a junior journalist.
帕利塔大使谈到, 中国和斯里兰卡青少年首先要有过硬的知识文化, 其次到对方的国家去旅游、访问。像是这样, 我们面对面的交流是非常重要, 能增进互相彼此的了解, 学到更多的东西, 无论你年纪大还是年龄小, 你都会在斯里兰卡找到许多感兴趣的东西, 通过文化的交流, 人和人之间的交流, 更好的促进两国之间的友谊。
Ambassador Palitha said, Chinese and Sri Lankan young people should first of all have good knowledge and culture understandings, and secondly travel to each other's countries for tourism and visits. Like today’s face-to-face meeting, it is very important to enhance mutual understanding, learn more things about each other, no matter how old or young you are, you will find a lot of interesting things in Sri Lanka, through the cultural exchanges, people-to-people exchange, and to better promote the friendship between the two countries.
小记者问：“斯里兰卡是一个充满魅力的国家, 今年初, 中方将斯里兰卡列入中国试点恢复出境团队游的首批20个国家之一。如果我们选择去斯里兰卡旅游, 请问：什么季节去最舒适？斯里兰卡旅游的亮点有哪些？谢谢！”
Another junior journalist asked: “Hello Ambassador! Sri Lanka is a country full of charm. Earlier this year, China included Sri Lanka as one of the first 20 countries to resume outbound group tours for Chinese nationals. If we want to visit Sri Lanka, when is the best season to go? What are the tourism highlights of Sri Lanka? Thanks!”
大使首先肯定这是一个很好的问题。他向小记者们介绍斯里兰卡拥有8项世界遗产, 其中文化遗产7项, 自然遗产1项。这个国度的风景与神秘文化无法用语言表达, 需要小记者们亲身经历才能了解。
The Ambassador said that this is a good question. He told the junior journalists that Sri Lanka has eight World Heritage Sites, seven of which are cultural heritage sites and one natural heritage site. The landscapes and mysterious culture of this country cannot be expressed in words, and they need to be experienced by personal feelings when you are there by yourself.
小记者了解到斯里兰卡是节假日最多的国家, 问到斯里兰卡的传统节日与旅游的最佳时间时, 大使告诉我们, 节假日众多是因为各个民族宗教信仰决定。国家有众多种群, 政府十分尊重各个民族节日。他自豪的告诉我们斯里兰卡四季如春, 因此每天都是到斯旅游的季节, 现在就有很多的中国人在斯里兰卡旅游。
The junior journalists learned that Sri Lanka is the country with the most holidays, and when asked about the traditional festivals and the best time to visit Sri Lanka, the ambassador told us that the many holidays were created by the religious beliefs of each ethnic group. There are many ethnic groups in the country and the government respects all ethnic festivals. He proudly told us that Sri Lanka has four seasons like spring, so every day is the best season to travel to Sri Lanka, now there are many Chinese people traveling in Sri Lanka.
中国与斯里兰卡友谊长达千年, 斯里兰卡一直坚持一个中国原则, 在疫情期间, 斯里兰卡也为中国捐赠了疫苗, 可以说是“雪中送炭”；斯里兰卡也是个非常热情好客的国家, 非常欢迎各国人民到斯里兰卡游玩。小记者在同大使交流中了解到, 斯里兰卡的大象大约有七千只, 随时随地都可以看见大象；斯里兰卡的美食也很特别, 大多是用椰子去烹饪的。
The friendship between China and Sri Lanka has been well kept for thousands of years, Sri Lanka has always adhered to the principle of “One China”. During the COVID pandemic, Sri Lanka also donated vaccines for China in the most needed time. Sri Lanka is also a very warm and hospitable country, and very welcome people from all over the world to visit Sri Lanka. When talking to the ambassador, the junior journalists learned that there are about 7,000 elephants in Sri Lanka, and you can see elephants anytime and anywhere; Sri Lankan cuisine is also very special, most of which is cooked with coconuts.
提问环节过后, 小记者向大使先生赠送精心准备的礼物。帕利塔大使对中外新闻社总裁韦燕说, 希望不久的将来请你带领中国企业家代表团和小记者们一起访问斯里兰卡, 观光旅游, 享受斯里兰卡的阳光、沙滩、美食。一时间, 小记者们感受到在斯里兰卡大使馆很温暖、很快乐。
After answering all questions, the junior journalists presented their gifts to Ambassador Palitha. He said to Mr. Wei Yan, President of Home and Abroad News Press, that he hoped Home and Abroad News Press would make a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to visit Sri Lanka with the junior journalists in the near future, to sightsee and enjoy the sunshine, sandy beaches and delicious food of Sri Lanka. We all felt the kindness and warmth from the Sri Lankan Embassy.
