On September 23, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) 2023 “Friendship Day” event was held in Beijing. The newly appointed President of CPAFFC Mr. Yang Wanming and the Ambassador of Namibia to China, H.E. Mr. Elia G. Kaiyamo delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. 杨万明会长在活动开幕前会见各国驻华大使。他表示，中国人民对外友好协会成立近70年来，来自五大洲的中外朋友们与我们携手同行，在共同追求和平、友好、合作、发展的征途上建立了深厚的友谊，举办“友好日”活动，就是要答谢中外朋友们的深厚情谊，同时为中外朋友搭建合作交友的平台。
President Yang Wanming met with ambassadors of various countries before the opening ceremony. He said that over the past 70 years since the founding of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), Chinese and foreign friends from five continents have walked hand in hand with us, and have built up profound friendships through pursuing peace, friendship, cooperation and development together. Based on the order of the date of presentation of the credentials, Ambassador of Namibia to China H.E. Mr. Elia G. Kaiyamo, as the presentative of all foreign guests, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He said that wherever is amity, peace, love and tranquility, there must be friendship. Friendship is very important because it breaks down stereotypes and other barriers, and friendly relations on a global scale help to promote the connectivity of people from different cultural backgrounds.
