2024年8月5日，中外新闻社在北京二十一世纪饭店宴会厅举行“见证友谊”-2024暑期访问外国驻华使馆小记者团（小小外交官）开团仪式。外交部原副部长助理马德强先生，联合国国际合作协调局副局长、中外新闻社总裁韦燕，中外新闻社执行社长刘登臣，中外新闻社副总裁张珈闻，中外新闻社副社长陈熹等领导出席。来自上海、广东、北京、江苏、广西、江西、海南等多名小记者经过“海选”参加中外新闻社小记者团。
