The Deputy Director of United Nation International Cooperation and Coordination, the President of Home and Abroad News Press, Mrs. Wei Yan firstly delivered a welcome speech. 韦燕说，中国“一带一路”倡议得到了100多个国家和国际组织积极支持参与，联合国及其多个机构也纷纷将“一带一路”倡议纳入了多份重要决议之中，媒体在传播信息、维护和平、增进友谊等方面发挥着不可替代的重要作用。“一带一路”建设的推进，离不开各国政府和人民的积极参与，也离不开各国媒体的鼎力支持。中外新闻社在这个舞台上扮演着重要的角色。
She said, the “Belt and Road” Initiative covers more than 100 countries and international organizations. The United Nations and many organizations attached great importance to this global proposal. Media plays an irreplaceable role to spread information, maintain world peace, promote friendship and cooperation. The “Belt and Road” Initiative cannot be achieved without the support and participation from all countries and people. Therefore, Home and Abroad News Press is playing an important role in the international community.
韦燕还谈到这几天在采访“两会”之余中外新闻社记者对话各国大使，他们对正在召开的中国“两会”感受深刻，认为中国政局非常稳定，这就是对世界的贡献。中国正处于发展的黄金时段，作为中国主流媒体，中外新闻社拥有融通中外的独特优势，肩负着携手构建人类命运共同体的重任，是推进“一带一路”建设不可替代的桥梁和纽带。

2011年5月6日，国务院港澳办批准中外新闻社在北京设立北京记者站。

特别值得一提的是：6年前中外新闻社驻中国传媒大学工作室揭牌仪式在中国传媒大学举行，中国传媒大学与中外新闻社结为战略合作伙伴关系给中外新闻社插上了腾飞翅膀。

At the ceremony, the Former Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Mr. Li Beihai delivered a speech, he highly appraised Home and Abroad News Press’ significant contributions to develop close relationships between China and the world, promote the friendship between Chinese people and all people around the world in the past 17 years. The Former Deputy Secretary of Publication Bureau of the CPC Central Committee Mr. Zhang Fan and all foreign ambassadors to China also delivered speeches on the stage.
