Bosnia and Herzegovina is located in the middle of the former Yugoslavia. It becomes a republic state of the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia in 1945. Bosnia and Herzegovina established diplomatic relations with China 16 years ago. The two countries become good friends and good partners in many areas with mutual political trust, beneficial economic and mutual support in international affairs. At the beginning of the year, journalists of Home and Abroad News Press interviewed the ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to China, Mr. Amel Kovacevic. The ambassador said that Bosnia and Herzegovina attaches great importance to the connections with China.

Journalist: Bosnia and Herzegovina officially established the diplomatic relations with China in 1995. The bilateral relationship of the two countries has been smoothly developed in the past 16 years. The recent high-level visits to each other and mutual cooperation have achieved remarkable success for both countries. As the ambassador to China, you have also contributed a lot to this relationship development, please share your opinions on the current relationship between China and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ambassador: First of all, I am very proud to be Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina. China is a beautiful country and Chinese friends are very friendly to me. As they say, regardless of the size of the national territory, the most important is the harmony and peaceful development. This makes me very impressed. Bosnia and Herzegovina and China have their own advantages, and they are highly mutually complementary, with very wide prospects for cooperation. China's rapid economic development has attracted worldwide attention. We hope that China will bring progress and development to our country. Bosnia and Herzegovina attaches great importance to the connections with China. Strengthening friendly and cooperative relation with China is the consensus of the government and people of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ambassador: We have very favorable locations well as highly skilled and relatively competitive labor force. I would like to draw kind attention of your readers to Sarajevo Business Forum 2011, the prime investment summit in the South East Europe organized by Bosna Bank International, is going to be held from 6th to 8th of April. This year the Forum will feature projects from energy, infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, wood industry and educational opportunities in the Southeast European region. At the Forum last year, 157 projects were offered to the investors totaling approximate 12 billion Euros, and a number of projects are now in the implementation phase. This year SBF wants to position the city of Sarajevo as an educational hub. They hope to find investors who could invest in building up world class universities in Sarajevo which could provide high-quality services for the foreign students.
