美国蒙纳瑞克斯好莱坞电影公司总裁克里斯蒂•里比一行2013年9月20日拜会中外新闻社驻北京记者站驻地，参观、了解了中外新闻社的职能和作用，对于中外新闻社在中国乃至世界的传播能力表示赞赏。克里斯蒂•里比先生与中外新闻社韦燕总裁就双方感兴趣的问题进行了友好交谈，对合作拍摄神秘中国--新闻纪录片进军美国好莱坞达成共识，双方签署的合作备忘录内容如下：
The CEO of (U.S.A) Monarex Hollywood Corporation Mr. Chris D. Nebe and his team visited the Beijing Branch of (China) Home and Abroad News Press on September 20th, 2013. He learnt about the missions and influence of Home and Abroad News Press, and he highly appraised the media’s ability to connect China with the world. Mr. Nebe and the President of Home and Abroad News Press Mrs. Wei Y an had a friendly and interactive talk over several concerned issues and they achieved consensus to jointly make news documentary films. To recognize the mutual consultation results, the Memorandum of Understanding on a Strategic Cooperation between (China) Home and Abroad News Press and (U.S.A) Monarex Hollywood Corporation are as follows:

(China) Home and Abroad News Press was founded on March 9, 2001. The media actively participated in a series of global important events in the recent years, including the APEC, Global Think Tank, the ASEM Summit and such. The Home and Abroad News Press magazine has received a number of awards since inception. The high recognitions include the Foreign Propaganda Mainstream Media for the North-North Network associated with the United Nations in June 2006, the “Royal Medal” from the Cambodian Royal Foundations in November 2007, the “Presidential Award” from the 17th International Media Expo in Iran, and the Chief Editor of the magazine Mrs. Wei Yan received the certificate of “American Honorary Citizen” in September 2012. Home and Abroad News Press always takes the social responsibilities of being a mainstream media in the international community with the pursuit of global vision, international standards, forward-thinking, and excellence. The Home and Abroad News Press magazine is also recognized as one of the major media channels by the Chinese government. 美国蒙纳瑞克斯(Monarex)好莱坞电影公司在世界电影史上有着极其深远的影响，制作发行了大量故事片和纪录片。1985年拍摄的纪录片《继承者》在戛纳电影节获奖。1994年拍摄的纪录片《最后的商队》获得美国CINE奖。1995年，首次来到中国，不断用镜头记录中国。2007年在中国拍摄的专题纪录片《马可波罗的香格里拉》、《马可波罗的世界屋脊》荣获美国第28届电视奖铜奖。其系列纪录片《神秘中国》以中国风光、历史、文化为主题，有8部纪录片被亚洲博物馆收藏。《大理•一见钟情》继荣获国际纪录片评选之顶级奖项“2011艾克霍德——卓越奖”之后，再次获得美国纪录片PIXEL奥斯卡金像奖提名，成为中国第一部以州市为单位入围PIXEL纪录片奥斯卡金像奖提名的纪录片。
(U.S.A) Monarex Hollywood Corporation is a well-known and influential film maker in the world movie history. It produced a large number of feature films and documentaries. In 1985, the movie “Successor” won the prize from the Cannes Film Festival. In 1994, the documentary “The Last Caravan” received the U.S. CINE Award. In 1995, the company came to China and made a series of films about China from different perspectives. In 2007, the feature documentary “Marco Polo’s Shangri-La” and “Marco Polo’s the Roof of the World” won the Bronze Prize from the United States the 28th Television Awards. Furthermore, its documentary series “Mysterious China” was based on themes of Chinese scenery, history and culture. Eight documentary films were permanently collected by the Asian Museum. “Dali – Love at First Sight” also won a number of international awards, including the Accolade Competition's Award for Excellence 2011, and nominated as a documentary finalist for the PIXEL Oscar Awards. This was the first documentary film of a Chinese city nominated for such international award.
鉴于甲方中外新闻社在国际社会的影响力，乙方美国蒙纳瑞克斯(Monarex)好莱坞电影公司在中国的使命，中外新闻社愿意发挥自身优势，为美国蒙纳瑞克斯(Monarex)好莱坞电影公司在中国城市拍摄纪录片提供强有力的支持，共同向西方世界展示和宣传一个真实的中国，共同打造两国在文化、影视等领域的合作平台。经友好协商，双方感觉合作机缘成熟，互补性较大，双方决定结为『战略合作伙伴 』关系，并达成以下共识：
Based on the domestic and international influences of (China) Home and Abroad News Press and the remarkable missions of (U.S.A) Monarex Hollywood Corporation in China, Home and Abroad News Press is willing to provide strong support to Monarex Hollywood Corporation with its leading market advantages and extensive networks in Chinese cities. The common goal for both parties is to reveal and promote a real China to the Western world through cooperation in culture, film and entertainment sectors. After friendly consultations, both parties realized that the opportunity for cooperation is being matured with great complementarities and finally reached an important consensus. As a result, the Memorandum of Understanding on a Strategic Cooperation has been made with the following clauses:
1.中外新闻社、中外新闻网记者将把宣传美国蒙纳瑞克斯好莱坞电影公司团队在中国各城市拍摄纪录片的工作列入正常的采访工作，追踪报道美国蒙纳瑞克斯好莱坞电影公司团队拍摄纪录片进程，同时聘请美国蒙纳瑞克斯好莱坞电影公司总裁克里斯蒂•里比(Chris D. NeBe)作为中外新闻社西方文化高级顾问，共同撰写合作的相关消息、评论和报道等；
1.Home and Abroad News Press and the Home and Abroad News website will actively promote the works of Monarex Hollywood Corporation in China, and continuously report and record the film making progress in different Chinese cities. Also, Home and Abroad News Press would like to invite the CEO of Monarex Hollywood Corporation Mr. Chris D. NeBe to be the Senior Consultant on Western Cultures for Home and Abroad News Press. The two parties will co-author and comment on related news, commentaries and reports, etc.
2.中外新闻社及时向美国蒙纳瑞克斯好莱坞电影公司提供在中国各城市拍摄纪录片有价值的信息，并做好相关政府的联络工作。
2.Home and Abroad News Press will provide valuable information about making documentary films in different Chinese cities to Monarex Hollywood Corporation and make necessary efforts to liaison with municipal, provincial and central governments in China.
3.中外新闻社从2013年10月起，将在《中外新闻》杂志上以中英文不定期的宣传中国政府和城市与乙方的合作项目。每期免费安排2个版面，全年6期，拟出版2年共24个版面，中外新闻网网站同步宣传，让更多的中国政府官员和人民对美国蒙纳瑞克斯好莱坞电影公司有更深刻地了解和认识；
3.Home and Abroad News Press will irregularly publish and promote cooperative projects between Monarex Hollywood Corporation and various Chinese cities in the Home and Abroad News magazine starting with the October 2013 issue. Home and Abroad News Press will offer two pages (free of charge) in each issue of the magazine (total six pages per year and twelve pages for the two year period) to Monarex Hollywood Corporation. Also, the Home and Abroad News website will take synchronized publicity to promote such projects; in return, the Chinese government officers and residences will gain more understanding and knowledge about Monarex Hollywood Corporation and its films.
4.中外新闻社将与美国蒙纳瑞克斯好莱坞电影公司不定期举行高层会吾，磋商、策划、举办相关的专题活动、联谊活动，双方本着积极互动、优势互补的原则，真诚合作、共谋发展；
4.Home and Abroad News Press and Monarex Hollywood Corporation will irregularly hold high-level exchange meetings to discuss, plan and run various special topic and recreational activities to actively develop the bilateral relationships with complimentary advantages, serenity and mutual understandings.
5.乙方美国蒙纳瑞克斯好莱坞电影公司将利用自身的条件和优势向中外新闻社提供直接或间接的支持和帮助，使《中外新闻》这一国际主流媒体得到更多的发展机会；
5.Monarex Hollywood Corporation will utilize its own strengths and advantages to directly or indirectly assist and support Home and Abroad News Press to explore growth potentials and momentums. This is based on mutual positive interactions, the principle of complimentary advantages and friendly cooperation and common development;
6.中外新闻社每期向乙方赠送《中外新闻》杂志10套。
6.Home and Aboard News Press will offer ten free copies of each issue of Home and Abroad News magazine to Monarex Hollywood Corporation.
以上条款内容，双方在合作过程中根据形势的变化或其他的因素再进行调整和修正。预祝双方的合作能为推进国际社会的和平、发展作出贡献。
The above terms are subject to amendments according to internal or external changes or other uncontrollable factors. We sincerely wish this cooperation success in order to allow for both parties to make material contributions to the international society.
