菲律宾共和国位于西太平洋，是东南亚一个多民族群岛国家，菲律宾是中西文化的交汇地。1月23日上午，“见证友谊”中外新闻社2017寒假采访外国驻广州总领事馆小记者团采访菲律宾共和国驻广州总领事唐芷林女士。
Republic of the Philippines is located in the Western Pacific Ocean and it is a multi-ethnic island in Southeast Asia. Philippines is the main intersection of Chinese and Western cultures. In the morning of January 23rd, "Witness Friendship" 2017 Winter Home & Abroad News Press Junior Journalist Delegation had an exclusive interview with the Philippine Consul General in Guangzhou, Mrs. Marie Charlotte G. Tang.

When entering the Consulate General of Philippines in Guangzhou, the junior journalists waved national flags of China and Philippines. They greeted to the Consul General in Guangzhou, Mrs. Marie Charlotte Tang and her consulate staffs.She was very pleased to meet the delegation and expected a great communication with the junior journalists.

“唐芷林总领事你好！首先向你致以新年的问候！我们了解到，你上任不久，就拜会广东省文化厅，与厅长方健宏就广东与菲律宾的文化交流进行了友好会谈。可见你对两国文化交流极为重视，你认为：中菲两国学生应该如何交流本国文化? 谢谢！”小记者问。
“Hello Consul General Mrs. Marie Charlotte Tang. Firstly, we would like to wish you a Happy New Year! As we learnt that short after becoming the Consul General in Guangzhou, you visited the Department of Culture of Guangdong Province and met with Officer Fang Jianhong to discuss cultural exchanges between China and Philippines. From this meeting, we can see that you have attached great importance to the cultural exchange between the two countries. In your opinions, what should Chinese and Philippines students do to promote exchanges with their own culture?” a junior journalist asked.

“是的，正如你所提到：上任不久，我就拜会广东省文化厅，与厅长方健宏就广东与菲律宾的文化交流进行了友好会谈。中国与菲律宾两国友谊长久，广东与菲律宾更是来往频繁。双方通过开展很多的文化交流增进了解。中菲两国学生如何交流本国文化，我认为：首先应该是学校与学校之间的互相交流，培养两国学生积极、乐观的心态，在熟悉本国文化的同时,了解对方国文化，认识和尊重不同民族和国家的文化习俗，并相互学习，相互进步。”总领事谈到。
“That’s right. Just like you mentioned. After I took the office, I visited the Department of Culture of Guangdong Province and met with Officer Fang Jianhong to discuss about the cultural exchanges between Guangdong and Philippines. China and Philippines have everlasting friendship with frequent connections. Both sides developed mutual understanding through various kinds of cultural exchanges. In my opinions, topromote exchanges with their own culturebetween Chinese and Philippines students, the communication between schools is the first step. This way can develop positive and optimistic attitudes of the students in the two countries. While learning about their own culture, they can understand and respect other different ethnic groups, customs and cultures through mutual learning and mutual progressing.” The Consul-General answered.

有小记者问：“菲律宾是一个亚洲东南部的群岛国家。菲律宾和中国的文化都是丰富多彩的，而且具有很多的特点。请总领事谈谈菲律宾的文化和旅游
A junior journalist asked: “Philippines is an island country in Southern Asia. Philippines and China have splendid culture, and they share a lot of common characteristics. Could you please introduce a little bit about Philippine culture and tourism?”

唐芷林总领事谈到：菲律宾人大多数信奉罗马天主教；还有一小部分人信奉伊斯兰教；少数民族多信原始宗教。菲律宾有世界上最美丽的海滩，有许许多多的大大小小的岛屿，会让你眼花缭乱，菲律宾的气候属于亚热带气候，风光无限好啊!游客们来到这里，可以感受一下丛林的茂密、魅力的海滨小城，在海滩上晒日光浴，洗海澡，吃海鲜，还能到海底世界一睹海中的神秘，亲眼看一下海中的生物是怎样生活的，更有繁华的都市呢，在这里，你可以看见各种高楼大厦，各种琳琅满目的商品，一年四季都有美食。
Consul General Mrs. Marie said: most of the people in Philippines are Roman Catholic, and a small number of people believe in Islam. Philippines has the most beautiful beaches in the world, there are many large and small islands. Philippines has subtropical climate. Tourists come here to experience tropical jungles, seaside towns, sunbathing on the beach andtaking bath in the ocean. You can also walk on the bottom of the seashores to see various kinds of sea creatures. Some prosperous cities also have different skyscrapers and a superb collection of beautiful goods. Delicious food is available all the year round as well.

“As a female diplomat, your unique demeanor and temperament left a great impression to us. How will you promote the youth exchanges between the two countries and contribute your wisdom and competence to the bilateral relationship during your term here as the Philippine Consul General in Guangzhou?” a junior journalist asked.

“谢谢，这是个很好的问题。首先我会珍惜总领事这个职位，我像今天一样邀请中国青少年学生到菲律宾总领事馆来，我和你们交流、互动，借此契机开展更多的文化交流，我还将邀请菲律宾芭蕾舞团到广州演出之事与广东省有关部门进行初步磋商。”
“Thank you. That's a good question. First, I will cherish this opportunity as the Consul General in Guangzhou. I like to invite Chinese young students to the Consulate General of Philippines just like today with you. I can exchange and interact with you. Through this opportunity, we can make more cultural exchanges for both countries. I will also be invitingthe Philippines Ballet to Guangzhou for a show. We are working with the relevant departments of Guangdong Province for preliminary consultations.”

采访结束，我们小记者给唐芷林总领事赠送各自的新年礼物，祝福她在中国过一个快乐的春节。菲律宾总领事馆也给我们小记者准备了很多菲律宾美食和菲律宾芒果，大家一面品尝一面交流，合影、签名、祝福，现场一片其乐融融的画面，宾主双方高喊：中菲友谊万岁！
At the end of the interview, our junior journalists presented the Chinese New Year gifts to the Consul-General. The Consulate also prepared many delicious Philippine food and dried mango for the delegation. While enjoying the happy moments with each other, the host and guests really appreciated the deep friendship between China and Philippines.
