（中外新闻社小记者）埃塞俄比亚是非洲东部的一个国家。东与吉布提、索马里毗邻, 西北同苏丹交界, 南与肯尼亚接壤。中国与埃塞俄比亚于1970年11月24日建交, 建交以来两国关系发展良好, 互为全面战略合作伙伴, 堪称中非友谊的典范。8月9日上午, “见证友谊” --中外新闻社小记者团如约采访埃塞俄比亚驻华大使塔费拉•德贝•伊马姆阁下。
Ethiopia is a country in eastern Africa. It borders with Djibouti and Somalia to the east, Sudan to the northwest and Kenya to the south. China and Ethiopia established the diplomatic relations on November 24, 1970, and since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have developed well, each other as a comprehensive strategic partner, which is a model of China and African’s friendship. On the morning of August 9th, “Witness Friendship”- 2024 Summer Home and Abroad News Press Junior Journalists had an exclusive interview with the Ambassador of Ethiopia to China, H.E. Mr. Tefera Derbew Yimam.
伊马姆大使在大使馆会议厅一一问候到访的小记者, 并向小记者介绍埃塞俄比亚有关情况。埃塞俄比亚有1.2亿人口, 是非洲大陆第二大的人口国。作为非盟总部所在地, 埃塞俄比亚在推动非盟国家携手合作、联合发展方面做出了积极努力。大使说, 中国一直与非洲人民站在一起, 支持和帮助非洲人民发展经济。他认为, 非洲和中国历史关系非常良好, 非洲期待与中国继续合作。
Ambassador Yimamgreeted the junior journalists one by one in the Embassy's conference hall and made a great introduction about Ethiopia. With a population of 120 million, Ethiopia is the second most populous country in the African continent. As the base of the African Union headquarters, Ethiopia has made active efforts in promoting the AU countries to join hands for regional cooperation and development. The ambassador said China has always stood by the African people, supporting and helping them in their economic development. According to him, Africa and China have had very good historical relations and Africa looks forward to continued cooperation with China.

A junior journalist asked: “Hello, Dear Ambassador! Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on the afternoon of August 23, 2023. Xi said: “China is a reliable friend and sincere partner of Ethiopia.” In recent years, the friendship between the two countries has become more deeply rooted in people's hearts. 伊马姆大使说, 感谢你提出了一个非常好的问题。我们两个国家能够有如此坚实的基石, 是源于我们两国领导人的英明决策, 历史已经并将继续充分证明,坚持相互尊重、和平共处、合作共赢,是埃中两国的正确相处之道。那么作为两国青少年如何为两国关系的友好发展贡献自己的智慧和力量呢, 首先我们要借助于先进的科技, 我们可以不断的互相连接, 互相的交流, 进一步了解了两国的历史、文化、理念和发展历程, 加深对两国在重要问题上立场的认知。相信在未来, 两个国家的年轻人能够更好的推动两国之间友好关系向前发展。第二种交流的方式就是情感上的交流。作为两个远古文化的发源地, 中国和埃塞俄比亚是拥有非常悠久的历史, 还有我们两国之间的价值观都是可以通过青少年的交流来互相渗透的。
Ambassador Yimam said that thank you for a very good question! Our two countries can have such a solid foundation because of the wise decisions made by the leaders of our two countries, history has proved and will continue to prove that adherence to mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation is the right way to get along with Ethiopia and China. So as the youth of the two countries how to contribute to the friendly development of relations between the two countries, first of all, we need to use advanced technology, we can continue to connect with each other, communicate with each other, to further understand the history, culture, philosophy and development of the two countries, and deepen the understanding of the position of the two countries on important issues. We believe that in the future, young people from both countries will be able to better promote the development of friendly relations between the two countries. The second way of communication is emotional communication. As the birthplaces of two ancient cultures, China and Ethiopia have a very long history, and the values of the two countries can penetrate each other through various youth exchanges.

“Thank you! thank you for allowing us to discuss educational cooperation between the two countries. I have been to Henan University and I hope to strengthen and establish cooperation and exchange with Henan in the field of science and technology. Ethiopia is the largest economy in Africa, and by emphasizing education development and integrating peace and security factors into the education system, it can help achieve peace and sustainable development in Africa. Within this framework, many Ethiopian students have gone to China to study and Chinese teachers have gone to Ethiopia to teach. China has been strongly supporting the development of education in Africa and helping to cultivate the talents that are urgently needed in Africa according to the actual situation in Africa. We can see that the cooperation between Ethiopia and China in education has gradually become multi-level, multi-field and multi-form collaboration.”

“Thank you! Yes, I have 3 children, the first graduated from university, the second is in high school, and the third is now in first grade. As a father, I leave the choices to my children and want them to have their own opinions on everything and not follow the crowd.” Ambassador Yimamhopes that everything his children do will contribute to humanity and create more values for the entire human race. Ambassador Yimam is an outstanding diplomat. At the end of the interview, the junior journalists gave the ambassador the token gifts from their hometowns and wished him a happy life and work in China.
