Ambassador Bernal is an outstanding politician and diplomat. He used to be the Mexican ambassador to South Korea, Czech Republic and Switzerland as well as the Consul General of Mexico in Los Angeles USA and the high representative of the Mexican government in the APEC and Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). As the ambassador to China, he believed that a new initiative proposed by Chairman Xi Jinping for China’s relations with western countries on the Eurasian continent is a great innovation and will evolve in innovative formulas for international cooperation. With his promotion and contributions, the bilateral trade volume between Mexico and China totaled 80.8 billion USD in 2017, increased by 8% from previous year.
