On the evening of March 28th, 2022, the Bangladeshi Embassy in China held a ceremony for the 51st Anniversary of Bangladesh's Independence Day, with more than 200 Chinese and foreign envoys and friends from many countries participating.

孟加拉国驻华大使扎曼在讲话中说，孟加拉国是中国重要友好邻邦，中国是孟加拉国最大贸易伙伴。在两国领导人共同引领下，战略合作伙伴关系不断深入发展。双方携手抗疫，相互支持，巩固深化了两国和两国人民传统友谊。在大型基础设施、民生及人力资源开发等领域合作卓有成效。
Bangladeshi Ambassador to China H.E.Mr. Mahbub Uz Zaman said in his speech that Bangladesh is an important and friendly neighbor of China, and China is Bangladesh's largest trading partner. Under the joint leadership of the leaders of the two countries, the strategic cooperative partnership has continued to develop in all friends. The two sides joined hands to fight the COVID pandemic and supported each other to enhance and deepen the traditional friendship between the two countries and the two peoples. The cooperation in the fields of large-scale infrastructure, people's livelihood and human capital development has been successful with fruitful results.

He sincerely thanked the Chinese government for its long-term selfless assistance to Bangladesh's social and economic development. Especially since the outbreak of the COVID pandemic, China has provided Bangladesh with a large number of anti-pandemic materials and vaccines, which has effectively helped Bangladesh's social and economic recovery. 1971年3月26日至12月16日，东巴基斯坦(今孟加拉国)和西巴基斯坦(今巴基斯坦)的武装冲突，持续时间9个月，战争的结果导致孟加拉国自巴基斯坦独立。为了纪念这个日子，孟加拉国把每一年的3月26日作为孟加拉国独立及国庆日。
The armed conflict between East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) and West Pakistan (now Pakistan) lasted for 9 months from March 26th to December 16th, 1971. The result of this war led to the independence of Bangladesh from Pakistan. To commemorate this victory, Bangladesh set the day of March 26th as Bangladesh Independence and National Day.
