Beijing is the capital city of China. Currently, China has diplomatic relations with 173 countries, and most of the countries have their embassies in Beijing. Five days starting from August 1st, the junior journalists visited 9 foreign embassies in China, including Argentina, Australia, Sri Lanka, Croatia, Pakistan, Uruguay, Congo, Israel, and Saudi Arabia. The delegation members personally felt the foreign diplomats’ “diplomatic temperaments” and presented their handmade gifts to the embassy officials. They have become the peace messengers between China and the world.
In this interview series, the junior journalists cherished the opportunities when they were interviewing and communicating with different foreign envoys each day. Before and after the interviews, they had to do a lot of work to prepare and summarize each interview. Although the weather was extremely hot and the schedule was tight, the junior journalists were able to show their best works to complete the challenging tasks. Five students from Liuzhou also practiced the Chinese traditional dance to spread Chinese culture around the world. The junior journalists improved their quick thinking, inner qualities and self-confidence characteristics through the challenging tasks. Their serious learning attitudes and excellent works made great impressions to all ambassadors, counsellors and embassy officials. On August 3rd, the Uruguayan Ambassador to China H.E. Mr. Fernando Lugris presented the “Certificates of Outstanding Performance” to the delegation members. He emotionally said that “Today, our embassy is very cheerful because we have many little guests here. All of you are the excellent junior journalists in China! You are the bright future for China and the world. I wish you will build more skills and strengths so that you will become a diplomat like me and write many great news reports and articles.”
