The Federative Republic of Brazil is the biggest country in the Latin America; it has the glorious title as “The Soccer Kingdom”. In the next few years, Brazil will have many eye-catching events; such as the World Cup in 2014 and the 31st Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. “The Brazilian Culture Month” in China will also organize over 50 activities in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Hong Kong, Macao and other major cities. Many of those events are wildly promoted to the general public; as a result, it is crucial for media like us to connect with the Brazilian Embassy to learn more about those events. August 9th, "Witness Friendship" 2013 Summer Home & Abroad News Press Junior Journalist Delegation had an exclusive interview with the Brazilian Embassy in China. After the interview, the Minister of the Brazilian Embassy Mr. Claudio Garon said emotionally: “Cultural exchange among teenagers is essential to develop the friendship between China and Brazil.”

“Good morning, Mr. Claudio Garon, Brazil is the soccer kingdom in the world and Brazil is the only country to win the World Cup four times. The 20th World Cup will be held in Brazil between June 13th and July 13th 2014. How will Brazil bring more surprises to the world and how will Brazil cooperate with to make it a better event for all? If we want to go to Brazil to watch the World Cup there, what services will the Brazilian embassy provide to assist us? “
“巴西是年轻而充满活力的国家，被誉为‘世界足球王国’，巴西有着浓郁民族文化的地域，巴西体育运动和文化一定会给旅游者和球迷带来惊喜和感动。你们想去巴西观看世界杯，首先要获得巴西大使馆的签证，然后介绍我们大使馆的文化参赞给你们认识，他会给你们提供帮助。”伽龙先生回答说。
“Brazil is a young and energetic country and known as ‘The Soccer Kingdom’. Brazil is also a place where is full of rich ethnic cultures. Brazilian sports and cultures will surely bring a lot of surprises to the visitors and the soccer fans. If you want to go to Brazil to attend the World Cup event there, you have to obtain a visa from the Brazilian embassy. I may introduce our Cultural Attachés to you and they will provide you all necessary assistance.” Mr. Claudio Garon answered.

有小记者问：“巴西国家的小学生一放学就可以去踢足球吗？巴西是如何培养小学生成为足球明星的？”
Another question from the junior journalist: “May I ask if all Brazilian elementary school students play soccer right after school? How does Brazil train the elementary school students to become soccer stars?”
伽龙先生说，巴西人把足球称为“大众运动”，无论是在海滩上，还是在城市的街头巷尾，都有人踢球。即使是在贫民窟，穷人家的孩子也光着脚把袜子塞满纸当球踢。巴西足球学校遍布全国各地，重点培养12—13岁的孩子，由优秀教练向他们灌输先进的足球理念和基本技能。巴西各俱乐部均雇有一批经验丰富、嗅觉敏锐的球探，常年在各足球学校和比赛场地“活动”，发现了优秀人才，及时向俱乐部通报。
Mr. Claudio Garon said: “Soccer in Brazil is called as “the Public Sports”. No matter where you go, beaches or streets, there will be people always playing soccer, even in the slums. Poor kids stuffed papers into their socks and play them like real soccer balls. There are soccer schools everywhere in Brazil with focus training on the kids between 12 and 13 year olds. The brilliant coaches will teach them advanced soccer techniques and basic skills. Brazilian soccer clubs have a group of experienced soccer player researchers who regularly go to different schools and venues to look for talented soccer players for various clubs.
针对小记者关注下个月在中国举行的“巴西文化月”，伽龙表示，举办“巴西文化月”旨在激发中国民众对巴西文化的兴趣，增进两国民众的相互了解和友谊，推动中巴关系不断发展。“文化月”期间，巴西驻华使领馆将在北京、上海、重庆、香港、澳门等地组织50多场活动。中国观众可以通过音乐、电影、烹饪等多种形式领略丰富多彩的巴西文化。此外，巴西知名艺术家、作家和演出团体也将受邀来华与中国观众见面交流。
About the upcoming “Brazilian Culture Month” in China, Mr. Claudio Garon expressed that organizing “Brazilian Culture Month” is to inspire the Chinese people's interests for the Brazilian cultures, to promote mutual understandings about each other and to further enhance the friendship between the two countries. During “the Culture Month”, the Brazilian embassy in China will organize over 50 activities in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Hong Kong, Macao and other major cities. Chinese visitors can learn about the abundant Brazilian cultures through music, movies, cooking and other forms. In addition, a number of well-known Brazilian artists, writers and performing groups will also be invited to China to meet the Chinese audiences.
