Ambassador Friis Arne Petersen is an excellent diplomat who had great experience before becoming the Danish Ambassador to China. He was the receiver of the Commander of First Class of the Order of Dannebrog and Greenlandic Order of Merit (Gold) as well as Grand Crosses of Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Japan, Jordan, Luxembourg, Romania, United Kingdom (GCMG), and Thailand. He was also the Ambassador of Denmark to the United States between 2005 and 2010. As the Ambassador to China, he fully utilized his wisdom and diplomatic experience to promote China and Denmark’s political, economic, social and cultural cooperation and achieved fruitful results in the past few years. In 2010 to 2012, Denmark’s export to China had grown by 14%, 15% and 17% each year. Most importantly, in the first half year of 2014, the bilateral trading volume between Denmark and China reached USD $5 billion level, an increase of 4.8%. Ambassador Friis Arne Petersen has brought many Danish small and medium enterprises to China. By the end of 2014, Denmark already had 815 investment projects in China with the total amount of USD$2.66 billion.
